MODFLOW Numerical Groundwater Flow Modeling
Computer aided flow modeling is a tool of analysis used routinely by InterFlow Hydrology, performed on regional and watershed scales, or in refined areas of interest. Numeric flow modeling tests hypotheses of groundwater flow and can provide:
- Improved Conceptual Understanding of Flow Systems and Relations
- Comprehensive Groundwater and Surface Water Assessments
- Predictions of Drawdown Associated with Existing or Proposed Groundwater Development
- Solute Transport and Predictions of Future Water Quality
Recently Completed Modeling Efforts by InterFlow Hydrology Include:
- MODFLOW SURFACT multi-basin regional flow modeling of the Diamond Valley Flow System- Central Nevada – for use in EIS evaluations and water rights hearings for large-scale mining process water supply.
- MODFLOW2000 and MT3D regional flow modeling of the Smoke Creek Desert system, Washoe County, NV for large-scale water supply for a proposed power generation project.
- MODFLOW2005 and MT3D regional flow and solute transport (TDS) model for Dixie Valley, Churchill County, NV, a comprehensive, multi-agency, federally funded evaluation water resources.
- MODFLOW USG simulation of an open loop Earth Heat Pump system in the Lake Tahoe basin
- MODFLOW USG simulation of Klondike well field performance, Esmeralda County Public Works, NV
- MODFLOW USG and MT3D simulation of nitrate build-up and transport in a portion of ElKo, NV
- Independent Peer Review of the Olympic Valley groundwater flow model, conducted for CEQA support, Squaw Valley Public Services District
- Regional Groundwater Management scenario modeling, Pahrump Valley, Nye County Water District
